Spring finds most of us decluttering, organizing, and deep cleaning our physical spaces as a way to create a literal and mental ‘clean slate’ for the year ahead. We go through our belongings to take stock and get rid of anything that no longer fits or serves us anymore. We clear every corner, scrubbing away any grime that’s accumulated over the past year, making space for newness and the unknown to move right in. In general, we’re meticulous about cleaning + clearing out our physical home, but it’s equally important (arguably more-so) to do the same in our hearts—the home within ourselves.
Because it’s easy to get rid of old clothes, wipe down the baseboards, and rearrange a room to feel better about ourselves + our space. However, it’s not so easy/tangible to get rid of old belief systems, wipe away the past, and rearrange our priorities to make space for the life we want. But we can do hard things, and we owe it to ourselves to do some thorough internal spring cleaning. Like plants—clearing and pruning old growth so better, stronger, new growth can occur. That’s the task at hand here…letting go and directing our energy towards the sun; our source of life, our highest expression.
What’re you making space for—yourself, joy, family, peace, fulfillment, change, friends, growth, community, hobbies, rest, free time?
So what needs to go—control, overthinking, perfectionism, over-working, negative self-talk, unaligned relationships, isolation, old routines + environments, people pleasing?

{ QUOTES I’VE LOVED }
"You will get farther in one week paying close, nonjudgmental attention to the unmet needs underlying your ‘bad’ behavior than you will in a year of punishing yourself and demanding you become a different person." -anonymous
“I would like to spend the rest of my days in a place so silent, and working at a pace so slow, that I would be able to hear myself living.” -Elizabeth Gilbert
“I sometimes forget that I was created for joy.
My mind is too busy, my heart is too heavy for me to remember that I have been called to dance the sacred dance of life.
I was created to smile, to love, to be lifted up, and to lift others up.” -Hafiz

Herby Mixed Bean Salad. I love prepping a dense bean salad at the top of every week to have on hand. It’s great as a side dish, snack, or over rice with avocado as a meal!
